1. Transforming the World of Work through Applied Theatre
Followup interviews with practitioners around the world who use applied theatre in workplace and organizational contexts. The book that will have been published in early 2027 will contain an ethical, aesthetic, and human-centered book that challenges how we think about work, change, and employment, not to serve bottom lines and business models but to advance human flourishing. It confronts the upheavals of corporate concentration, AI, gig economies, cultural shifts, and the pandemic, and shows how applied theatre becomes a powerful tool to reimagine and reshape work, and with it a life well lived. This project will followup up the original interviews with a view to apply for a research grant to bring together the practitioners we interviewed for a working session to share their practices and develop a world wide network of applied theatre practitioners working in workplace contexts.

Research area: Practitioner researcher who uses applied theatre, creative and critical pedagogy in teaching practical ethics and group facilitation in organizations and communities.
Student roles:
Followup interviews and needs assesment with practitioners around the world who use applied theatre in workplace and organizational contexts. Focusing on devleoping a framework for an application for a practitioner research project that will include a working meeting/workshop including these practitioners. Developing and creating an online blog for practitioners to share their experiences.
Skills required:
Interest in applied theatre and other creative ways of working within organizations and communities as a practice and pedagogy. Experience with the use of theatre or creative pedagogy in any context or with any objectives a strong asset. Some background in doing interviews will be helpful.
